Happy Monday, y'all.

Happy Monday, y'all! (Working hard to work "y'all" into my everyday voacbulary...)

This sidewalk heart was taken at Hop Doddy on South Congress this weekend. I've walked past this place dozens of times and could never bring myself to stand in its wrapped-around-the-corner, huge-ass line. But I finally did, and it was so, so worth it.

This burger joint has the BEST burgers I've ever tasted. It was so good that I didn't even pull out my camera to snap a picture of it!

Monday. Is anyone else feeling overwhelmed for this week? If you are, let's take on the world this week. We can get it all done!

Some happy March news to kick-start this week:

1. My birthday is on Sunday! The big 2-3.

2. HUNGER GAMES PREMIERES THIS MONTH!!

3. Babies are popping out everywhere! Natalie just had her baby yesterday. Little Blaire was 5 weeks early. Keep her in your thoughts & prayers!

4. From my favorite blog ever- Josh Downs returned safely home from Afghanistan. Post a happy note on Karen's blog. I'm sure she'd love to see it.

5. March is for trying new things. My sister, Page, is starting a calligraphy class. Robbie starts hockey. And I will be going to my second photography class tonight.

Happy Monday, y'all. Let's make it a good one.

A little trip to the oasis

The boys and I took a little adventure this weekend. We headed to The Oasis at Lake Travis. I feltright at home. The rolling hills and the lake reminded me a lot of San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay.

A pretty water tower:

The Oasis was more like a little village at the top of Lake Travis. The restaurant itself is enormous. Four stories against a cliff overlooking the water. Gorgeous. Our waitress told us that 2500 people would fill the restaurant. Then there are little sweet shops and a souvenir store to check out.

Our view right from where we were sitting. I loved the little diver girl sculpture.

A couple margaritas:

The boys being goofy. There were pretty signs like this everywhere.

Isn't the view beautiful?!

This beauty was in the souvenir shop.

This map was pretty clever. I love how Texas covers up southern California.

Oasis, we'll be back.

Hitting the road

My whole move to Austin has been in the making for quite some time now... about a year, or so. Last November, after Robbie found out his job would be in Texas and we decided that Austin would be a pretty cool place to live, we began the long wait for the actual move.

Now it's here and I can't believe how soon it came.

My wonderful best friend, Becca, and I hit the road this morning. Two stops and seven hours later, we made it to Tucson, AZ. Easy, breezy ride. No car troubles (thank you, Vicky-my Volvo), and with great company the ride seemed super short.

Please excuse the greasy hair and the pjs.

Becca found a sweet little restaurant, Teresa's Mosaic Cafe, and we had some tasty Mexican food tonight.

Cute decorations and pretty mosaics everywhere.

Now it's time for ice cream and Bridesmaids. Apologies for the quick post! I just wanted to make sure everyone knew I was still alive after the first leg of our trip. <3

More pictures tomorrow!

P.S. For you Canadians out there: happy Boxing Day!

P.P.S. Coming up: road trip video, Christmas pictures and NEW APARTMENT PHOTOS!!!
