Tonight, we are young.

It's ridiculous how much blog inspiration can be packed into one weekend. Meeting so many women who have the same exact passion as you do is like meeting 200 best friends all at once. I love that our stalker-like tendencies of following one another's lives via blogs was 100% totally acceptable and encouraged this weekend.

As I mentioned in my last post, I took the lovely Lety to the Poshmark Party Saturday night as my date.

Have I mentioned this on my blog yet? I gave up sweets for lent this year.

Which is a total bummer when I find myself in the presence of a cupcake tower.

The Poshmark Party had so many awesome sponsors, one of them being LuLu's. Lety spun the LuLu wheel and got a $10 gift card! Score!

I spun and got a whopping FIFTY DOLLARS! Lucky me! I've been scoping out a couple of adorable dresses on their website for summer.

Lety and I wishing we needed to wear glasses.

There was a photobooth outside and a Poshmark photo couch inside. Lety and I didn't quite make it to the couch (there were so many girls taking photos), so we grabbed some props and had our own photo sesh.

Because we're obsessed with Pinterest, Lety and I decided that we needed to have a Pinterest craft party and make this adorable framed necklace holder that we found at the Stella & Dot sponsor table.

We left semi-early because we had to to the airport to pick up Rachel, who was coming in for SXSW Interactive. As we were walking to the car, Lety and I saw a mob of people walking toward us with music blaring. We went over to check out what was going on...

Turns out there was a Decentralized Dance Party going on for SXSW. The leader of the pack, who had a giant, light-up Gandalf-like staff, led this giant group of people around Austin for a dance party. When the Gandalf stick moved to a new location, the people moved with it. Everyone had boomboxes that were tuned to the same station, so music was blaring. Lety and I joined in for 5 songs or so until Gandalf decided it was time to move on to 6th Street. We bid our Decentralized Dance Party people adieu and went to pick up Rachel.

Only in Austin, right?

I got some footage of the sweet dance party, so I'll be sure to share that soon!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to the ladies at the Texas Style Council. You did such a fabulous job hosting the TxSC Blogger Conference and I can't thank you enough for all of the time and effort you put into making the entire weekend a huge success. Elissa, Indiana and the gang- you ladies rock.

My hot date.

(Lety at G'raj Mahal)
Meet Lety.

Remember in my last post how I had a $50 bar tab for buying two bottles of champagne on New Years Eve? That's the night I met Lety. We, obviously, have been friends ever since.

Since Robbie has his first hockey game on Saturday night, Lety's going to be my hot date at the Texas Style Council's Poshmark Party. Clothes, bloggers, fashion, photobooths... the Poshmark party's going to be a hit. As much as Robbie LOVES blogging and fashion, I'm pretty sure Lety's going to have a much better time than Robbie probably would on Saturday.

I can't wait to share TxSC conference photos all next week!

Some Austin blog love

I'm giving Austin blogs some love today.

Three favorites that I've found so far:

1. Austin Eavesdropper by Tolly Moseley
I'm pretty sure this is the most popular blog in Austin, and possibly Texas! Tolly's a storyteller. She posts great little tidbits about her life everyday. My favorite recent post is the "Austin Eavesdropper TV" video interview she did with Jaynie Buckingham from Cutie Pies Bakery.

2. I'm loving Adored Austin by Indiana Adams. She's part of the Texas Style Council, who's hosting a Blogger Conference in March (my birthday weekend!). Miss Indiana, I wish I had your fashion sense.

3. The Possumbox. Their videos crack me up.

And of course, a picture for the day. A group of us went to the UT/Texas A&M game last week and I felt like I was at an NBA game. Why is UT's basketball stadium so big?!

Who are your favorite bloggers?

Resolving to GET OUT.

I'm pretty sure I've been having good karma lately. It seems like everyone I meet in Austin is super friendly and always inviting me and Robbie to do things. It's just not normal. People are not this friendly ever.

I'm riding this good karma out. Thanks to everyone I've met that's welcomed me to Texas. Y'all are awesome. (People really say y'all here. All the time. I love it.)

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend. This is a planning weekend with a couple of shopping trips thrown in. I don't want to be a bump on a log every weekend I'm in Austin, so I've been checking out some fun things to do in the coming weeks (thanks, Blanca, for all of the cool sites you've been giving me!):

The Color Run.
A group of new friends and I are planning on doing this 5k in February.

The night after The Color Run, we're heading to Carnival, a crazy Brazillian-style Mardi Gras party. We're going to Lucy in Disguise to get some sweet costumes.

Lety, a graduate art/museum student that I've met and LOVE, really wants to show me G'raj Mahal, an Indian outdoor restaurant near Rainey Street. Rainey Street is awesome- a post on Rainey Street another day.

I'm registering to attend a blogger conference in Austin held by the Texas Style Council. I found this conference on Adored Austin's blog and am stoked about it. It's also the weekend of my birthday!!

Texas Style Council

One last thing to add to the "To-Do" list: SEE THE BATS!! In Austin a gazillion bats fly out from under some bridge at dusk and apparently it's a really cool sight to see. There's also The Bat Bar that I want to visit on 6th Street.

Isn't this postcard gorgeous? Also, more on my postcard project later.

What are some fun things in your city that you want to do?! Find some cool events and share them with me. Resolve this year to NOT stay in on the weekends.

This weekend, however, will be a low-key one. Enjoy your weekend. I'm going to go grab a bagel, curl up with my Mindy book and gear up to go shopping later today while Robbie does the ESPN thing this afternoon.
